For more than 30 years, the partners at Corcoran Austin P.C. has provided legal counsel to individuals, families, and businesses. Based in Northern Michigan, the firm serves clients throughout Michigan, including downstate matters in the towing and transportation industry.

Jim Austin has advised individual and business clients for more than 30 years. Before starting his own firm, he spent 15 years with the Northville firm of Jerome & Austin, handling labor and employment, personal injury, construction lien, transportation, commercial, and domestic-relations matters.
Today, Jim focuses on representing towing and wrecker service companies throughout Michigan. His work includes abandoned-vehicle law, environmental cleanup after vehicle accidents, police towing contracts and rotations, permits, purchases and acquisitions, and contract matters.
Jim is also a trained general civil and domestic-relations mediator. He has argued cases before Michigan’s Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, federal district courts, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mike Corcoran’s service includes the Grand Traverse Bar Association Board of Governors, leadership as a former president of the Charlevoix-Emmet Bar Association, and past board service with the Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan and the Charlevoix-Emmet ISD Board of Education.
His lifelong interest in music connects him to Michigan State University’s bands and jazz ensembles and to the NMC jazz ensembles, where he plays second trombone. Mike and the firm also support Mercer’s trial competition program, the Animal and Natural Resource Law Review, and the Charlevoix Venetian Festival.
